Terry
Gilecki has been involved professionally as a freelance
commercial and fine artist since 1974, and as a result
was confronted with the challenge of working many mediums,
and innovating methods and techniques to fit specific
demands. Many of those challenges are reflected in the
processes and techniques now used in his art.
His
art is achieved by first applying reactive mediums and
applying the modelling material for the texture, often
working and reworking the surface and colour glazes
until the desired effect is achieved. Often impressions
will be made before the surface is catalyzed.
The original design is then transferred to the support
and may be modified to capitalize on the character features
that have developed in the textured medium.
Painting is then done in acrylic, using a combination
of airbrush, brush and scratching back techniques, as
well as translucent, opaque and occasionally, metal
powders for dimensional quality. |
